I can't believe it's almost November.

What can't you believe?

How many people actually talk about the weather? It seems like whenever someone mentions the weather they're always trying to avoid talking about something else. I think the weather is a rather interesting topic; I suppose it's appropriate to choose it as a go-to subject for conversation since it's never the same and hardly ever hard to discuss.

I just wonder why no one ever talks about the weather for the sake of talking about the weather. It's so nice out now, don't you think? No more of that awful heat. There is actually a chill in the air now! October is always a nice month as far as weather goes, so long as it's not raining. I think November's the best, though.

It never seemed real that we were actually going back to school until I got my book list. Funny how those things work, yeah? You feel like you have all the time in the world. I can't say I'm too sad about the summer ending, though. There's a proper time for everything.

No paint spills this time, I'm afraid.

Well, these are interesting. Hello? How is your summer, journal reader? (See, I'm trying to make this a personal message! Just for you! Don't you feel special?)

Here is something to consider. What are your thoughts on tulips? Mum wants to plant some. I think they're nice, but I'd rather plant some tomatoes. Tomatoes are more practical because we can eat them. And you've always got to eat. Also, I think Mum would be less disappointed when the tomatoes died because, let's face it, they're not nearly as aesthetically pleasing. See, she thinks she is this wonderful gardener but she's really sort of rubbish at it, and I keep telling her she could take some classes or something, but she won't listen to me.

All right, get to work! Tulips or tomatoes? Or should she plant something else? I think it's too hot for gardening anyway, but she is so set on it.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. )
